About the Lake Zone Investment Forum
The Lake Zone Investment Forum is an initiative of the six regional commissioners offices in the Lake Zone namely: Geita, Kagera, Mara, Mwanza, Shinyanga and Simiyu.  The forum is guided by the Lake Zone Investment Forum Organizing Committee currently chaired by the Mwanza Regional Commissioner. In terms of operations, there is a joint secretariat constituted by the technical human capital drawn from the respective regions and chaired by the host Regional Administrative Secretary. The initial seed funding to organize the 2014 Lake Zone Investment Forum is drawn the respective District Commissioners Offices in the regions.

Objectives of Forum –2014
The overall objective of the Lake Zone Investment Forum is to promote the investment opportunities available in the Lake Zone with a goal of attracting foreign and local investors to tap these investment opportunities and eventually accelerate sustainable economic growth in the zone.
Specifically, the forum is expected: 
• To provide high level networking event bringing together government officials, private sector, local and international investors, international community and investment experts
• To provide timely insight into the government plans for promoting investment opportunities in the Lake Zone
• To address the complexities of harnessing investment opportunities in the Lake Zone
• To develop the Lake Zone Investment Strategic Plan as document guiding common investment agenda for the six regions
• To win local and international investors’ heart to sign up for investment opportunities in the Lake Zone 
• To disseminate the outcomes of the lake Zone Investment Forum to the widest audience
